Payments may be made by cash, cheque, credit card, or EFTPOS.
- The Yarra Junction Medical Centre has Medicare Easyclaim, which means that the Medicare rebate is paid into your bank account almost immediately upon paying your account.
- All sessions at Upper Yarra Family Centre are bulk-billed or paid through the Better Outcomes in Mental Health Care program (funded by Eastern Ranges GP Association). Only children and teenagers can be seen at this site.
- The Seville Village Health Centre has HiCAPS, which allows for immediate remuneration of Medicare or private health insurance rebates upon payment.
Bulk-billing will be considered for people under severe financial stress and for health-care card/pension card holders.
Cancellation Policy: Due to the demand for appointments, cancellation fees will be charged, unless there are exceptional circumstances. A $50 fee will be charged where less than 24 hours notice of cancellation is given. Providing notice of cancellation means that people on a waiting list can be contacted and utilize the appointment time.
* Medicare rebates are now available for individuals with a Mental Health Disorder who are treated by a Registered Psychologist. The person must be referred by a GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician. Clients can claim a maximum of 12 sessions per calendar year for individual counselling. A further 6 sessions can be claimed under extenuating circumstances. More information about Medicare rebates is obtainable from the APS website. Currently the Medicare rebate for consulting with a clinical psychologist is approximately $120, meaning a gap of about $20 per session. |
